Frequently Asked Questions

What is there to do?

There are lots of activities to do at Dogwood Farm. Pickleball, walking trails, cornhole, ladder toss, tetherball,  zip line for kids, indoor board games, indoor ping pong, and an outdoor firepit. Sitting on the back porch with friends and family is also one of our favorite things to do.

What about food?

We have a refrigerator and freezer in each house for you to stock with your own food. We also supply coffee, sugar, and half and half for your mornings. There is a grocery store in Coldspring and a HEB 35 minutes away.  You can also choose from additional packages to add on at checkout.

Do we bring our own wood for the firepit?

You can bring your own wood, purchase firewood at the end of your checkout online, or go around the property and find sticks to burn. If there are some larger logs by the firepit you are free to use those when available.  Always check and see if a burn ban is in effect.

When do we check in and out?

Check in is as early as 3 PM and checkout is by 11 AM.

Can we rent multiple farmhouses?

Monday-Thursday two to three homes are able to be rented per group.  Friday-Sunday all three homes on the property are able to be rented by one group. When renting all three houses, your group will have the property to themselves for their stay at Dogwood Farm.

Do you have pickleball paddles?

We have four pickleball paddles at the farm available for your enjoyment during your stay. Rackets are in Loblolly on the orange table.

Are pets allowed?

Trained dogs are allowed on the property at a $50 a day/per pet fee. No more than two dogs are allowed. The neighbors have dogs that roam, so please know you might have visitors. They are friendly.

What are some things to do in the area?

There are so many things to do in this part of the state. Lake attractions, Sam Houston National Forest, wineries, breweries, shopping, golf, the Lone Star Hiking Trail, and the Sam Houston National Forest to name a few. The town of Coldspring has live music on the weekends at the square. Check in town for information as per time and music.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here! The place is so clean and new and well-furnished; everything was comfortable and homey. Host Dana was very thorough and communicative throughout the stay when we had any questions and provided great recommendations for restaurants around the area. 10/10 would stay here again, and recommend to anyone!

We booked to celebrate our son's 18th birthday weekend and the whole family enjoyed it! Great escape from the busy city life! If you're looking for a peaceful, quiet, beautiful, relaxing getaway, this is the place for it. The rolling hills as you're driving in, the acreage and trails, the tress surrounding the property giving off shade and a pleasant breeze, the swing in the front yard, the fire pit to roast S'mores, the board games to enjoy family time, the nice propane grill to roast some corn on the cob, make hot dogs, burgers and Jalapeno poppers, as we did, this place was a 10 out of 10 for us! Not to mention Dana was a great host, communicated in a prompt and timely manner! We hope to visit her place in Coldspring again soon. Highly recommend!

The house is in a beautiful country setting. Driving to it, you see rolling hills and wonderful green space. The rooms were super clean, comfortable, great views from the house of trees and ranch fences. Perfect for quiet time away from the city. We hardly left it.
